Marissa Anne is a poet who writes about emotions and Jesus while living the granola girl life of her dreams with her husband. She doesn’t really know how to describe herself beyond that she loves deep dives into the Bible, exploring creation, a good cup of coffee, and baking delicious things. She is a firm believer in the “I can probably do it if I try” mentality, and she will read just about anything you hand her.

I heard a sermon once on the story in John 12 about Mary. She had taken expensive oil using it to anoint and wash the feet of Jesus. The disciples rebuked her asking why she didn’t use the money for the poor instead of “wasting” it. Jesus then rebukes the disciples reminding them,

“you always have the poor but not always me.”

In the sermon, the Pastor said that this is why we should be careful about judging how other Christians serve God. We don’t always see or understand what they are doing but it doesn’t automatically mean they are disobeying God. Their convictions and calling could just different than yours! If it’s not something explicitly laid out in the Bible as sin, we don’t all have to follow the same exact path and that’s ok. Romans talks about how we all have different gifts, those varying gifts influence what our individual callings are. I created this logo as a reminder of that story. I wanted it to look like a vase pouring out perfume as a reminder that just because my calling looks different than others, doesn’t make it less then. I also wanted the reminder that it is all about serving and glorifying God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says,

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.”

So that’s what this page is for, these scribbles are for, this life is for–all for the glory of my LORD and Savior.
